Slate

Because of its ability to withstand heat and caustic chemicals, slate was traditionally used for laboratory bench tops. This strength makes it ideal for kitchen work surfaces once effectively sealed.

Slate's non–slip properties make it an excellent choice in either bathroom or shower. Its resilience and inherent colour variations mean that it also hides dirt well.
